TCAF 2015 State Champions Runner Up
Lady Crusader athletics is dedicated to the whole athlete; on and off the court. We believe that in order for our Lady Cru to be competitive at the highest level, they must not only develop the skills of their sport, but develop qualities of discipline, leadership, dedication, loyalty and sacrifice to meet their goals. In order to be on the court and prepared to compete, our players must learn to organize and balance family, academic, spiritual, and athletic commitments. These skills, which are highly valued by this volleyball program, will prepare our Lady Crusaders to succeed as young adults and beyond. Lady Cru Volleyball offers Varsity, JV, Junior High and Elementary Programs.
The mission of the Cornerstone Christian Academy elementary soccer program is to cultivate a Christian attitude towards sports in our students. This attitude includes competitiveness, sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, character and most of all to seizing an opportunity to show Christ’s love through their actions. Our coaches take pride in teaching these young students the basic tenets of competitive Christian sports. The CCA co-ed soccer program competes in the Christian Student Athletic Fellowship (CSAF) league.
It is the mission of the Cornerstone Christian Academy Basketball Team to inspire excellence in every aspect of the student athlete’s life. This is accomplished, first and foremost, by hard work in all areas of their lives. Crusader student-athletes are committed daily to academic achievement, discipline, and ambassadorship. We want to create in each student-athlete faith and vision that will catapult them into their life’s destiny after basketball. We constantly stress the importance of always competing in order to accomplish the goal of winning.
TCAF 2015-16 STATE CHAMPIONS
CCA competes in the Christian School Athletic Fellowship (CSAF) at the junior high level in golf and in the Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship (TCAF) at the high school level. Golf tryouts typically occur in February of each year and tournament play begins in late March. All athletes interested in competing in golf should have adequate tournament experience in local leagues (NTPGA, FWJGT, HCNEWS, AJGA). This is not, however, an avenue to “teach” the game of golf to beginners. CCA does have local PGA professionals that provide assistance in swing mechanics and tournament strategy throughout the Spring tournament season. CCA practices at DeCordova Golf Course.
The Swim team was the first sport for Cornerstone Christian Academy. It is one of the few school sponsored swim teams in the North Texas area. The team is available to qualified elementary, Jr. High and High School students. This is a competitive program that requires students to have basic swimming skills before applying to be placed on the team. We have coaches that are skilled in teaching competitive swim. It is an Individual and team sport. Our goal with this program is to teach students about Christian sportsmanship and to strive to not only be the best swimmer they can be but, to be a supportive team member.
Track & Field
Track and field is an individual and team sport combined. Here at Cornerstone we as a team rely on individual performances along with relay events to accumulate our team standing. The overall concept is for our athletes to utilize our program to improve speed, endurance, power, and proper body mechanics. All of these fitness related skills would be applied in other sports besides track and field. Our goal is for every athlete to participate while making her experience fun and rewarding.
